CANOE TRIPS
Local Day Trips - expenses from my end, including picnic lunch, about $11 per person

Available May-October.  Canoes for up to 38 people.  May and June are the best choices for moving-water river trips here in the NE, since many of our area rivers get too low to be dependable for canoeing after that.   I do many trips on both the Cohocton River here in the Bath area, and the Chemung River in the Corning-Elmira area.   Then, when many of the local rivers pretty much dry up for the summer and fall months, most trips are done on the Seneca-Cayuga Canal in the Waterloo-Seneca Falls area, where we go actually go through 3 or 4 locks along the journey.  That's always a unique experience for the teens.

Trips With a Cabin Overnight - my expenses about $15.25 per person, including meals
Available May-October.  In 1999, many volunteers helped build a beautiful rustic 2-story log cabin.  Upstairs there are bunk rooms for 44, and downstairs there is a meeting area with couches, a dining area, a kitchen, ping-pong, foosball and air hockey.  Situated on 23 wooded acres about 12 miles NW of Bath NY, there is volleyball, a campfire area, room for outdoor games, some low ropes course elements, a creek with crayfish, a couple sledding hills, and about a mile of marked hiking/ski trails.  Probably 2/3 of the groups that canoe with me, come and spend the night before at the cabin.
